Volunteers help a sled hockey athlete gear up for practice.
Volunteers from our department

Associate Teaching Professor Sue Spaulding, MS, L/CPO, FAAOP, and Professor Jelena N. Svircev, MD, received a small grant from the University of Washington Center for Learning and Innovation in Medical Education (CLIME). The $5,000 award will support their project, “Building expertise of UW Rehabilitation Medicine professionals in adaptive sports.”

The project has three goals:

  • Develop and implement an adaptive sports curriculum for UW Rehabilitation Medicine faculty, clinicians, and trainees.
  • Build partnerships between the department and local adaptive sports organizations.
  • Increase awareness of rehabilitation services in the community.
