Mazwi appointed to American Heart Association stroke advisory committee

Associate Professor Nicole Mazwi, MD, has been appointed to the American Stroke Association Advisory Committee of the American Heart Association (AHA). Her term begins July 1, 2026, and ends June 30, 2027. Members serve one-year terms, with eligibility for reappointment for up to two more years.
Dr. Mazwi’s research interests are centered on early rehabilitation intervention for patients with brain injury and stroke in the neurocritical care setting.
The advisory committee includes clinical experts and community members who provide guidance to the American Stroke Association. The group advises on national strategy, programs, and messaging; helps identify priorities in stroke care and research; and serves as a resource across the AHA. Members meet in person twice a year and collaborate throughout the year as needed.
