Department faculty to teach courses at APTA Washington Centennial Conference

Faculty from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the UW School of Medicine will teach two full-day courses at the APTA Washington 2026 Conference, October 3-4, 2026, at Cascadia College in Bothell. The conference marks the 100th anniversary of APTA Washington.
Saturday, October 3
Advances in Parkinson's Disease: Emerging Concepts and Clinical Practice Guidelines
All-day course, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Valerie Kelly, PT, PhD, and Sujata Pradhan, PT, PhD, will teach this course on evidence-based advances in Parkinson's disease care, management of motor and nonmotor symptoms, and the American Physical Therapy Association Clinical Practice Guideline for physical therapy management of Parkinson's disease.
Sunday, October 4
Management and Rehabilitation of the Overhead Athlete
All-day course, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Charles Kenyon, DO, MS, CSCS, organized this course and will teach sessions on shoulder and kinetic chain principles in the overhead athlete and recognition and rehabilitation of neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome. He also will lead the concluding case discussion.
Kenyon will be joined by Albert Gee, MD, and Corey Schiffman, MD, from UW Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, as well as Dylan Newcomer, DPT, and Jordan Bork, DPT.
