Traumatic Brain Injury Model System

The University of Washington's Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System of Care is one of 14 federally funded Centers in the United States that promotes the best health and recovery in persons with traumatic brain injury by:

  • Discovering what happens to people who have a TBI, how they recover and what to expect on a long-term basis.
  • Examining treatments that may lessen the problems caused by brain injury.
  • Providing state-of-the-art rehabilitation that meets the needs of people with TBI and their families.

The University of Washington was selected as a TBI Model System of Care site because of its reputation as a national leader in clinical care and brain injury research.
