
UW Medicine Physician Leads Team to Gold at 2025 United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Sports Medicine Conference
Associate Professor Mindy Loveless, MD; Clinical Associate Professor Eric Chen, MD, MS; Assistant Professor Lyndsey Booker, MD; and Assistant Professor Charlie Kenyon, DO, MS, recently attended the 2025 United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Sports Medicine Conference from September 4–6 in Colorado Springs.
The international conference on Paralympic sports medicine brought together leading experts from around the world, with representatives from the United States, Canada, England, South Africa, and Australia. The event highlighted advances in the management of medical, orthopedic, and mental health conditions for athletes with disabilities, offering a comprehensive look at best practices in the field.
In addition to a series of expert-led lectures, the conference featured an intensive, full-day emergency preparedness workshop and team evaluation.
Dr. Chen represented the department, leading his team through the workshop challenges. His leadership and expertise helped guide the group to a first-place finish, earning them the gold medal.
