
Pradhan receives Excellence in Student Mentorship Award

Associate Professor Sujata Pradhan, PhD, PT, received this year’s Kathryn M. Yorkston, PhD, Award for Excellence in Student/Trainee Mentorship. The award recognizes exceptional mentorship of students and trainees.
Dr. Pradhan is recognized for her dedication to trainee growth and professional development, as well as for her supportive and structured approach to mentorship.
“I have learned a lot from observing Sujata’s mentoring style—she is kind, direct, and clear, which helps students understand expectations,” said Professor Carolyn Baylor, PhD, CCC-SLP.
Colleagues note that Dr. Pradhan prioritizes student-centered mentorship and supports trainees in pursuing their individual professional goals.
This award was presented at the 2026 Justus F. Lehmann Symposium on May 7, 2026.
About the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine mentoring awards
The Mentoring Awards Program launched in 2023 to recognize excellence in mentorship in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at UW Medicine. Each year, three awards honor faculty who invest in the next generation of rehabilitation professionals and faculty:
- Kathryn M. Yorkston Award for Excellence in Student/Trainee Mentorship
- Joseph M. Czerniecki, MD, Award for Excellence in Clinician-Scientist Mentorship
- Teresa L. Massagli, MD, Award for Excellence in Mentorship of Clinicians
The awards are presented annually at the Justus F. Lehmann Symposium.
