The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) established the Lindy Boggs Award in 1982. It recognizes the significant contributions by an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist Assistant in promoting occupational therapy in federal or state legislation, regulations, and/or policies or by increasing appreciation of this field by public officials.
