Meet our sports and spine doctors: Charles Kenyon, DO, MS, CSCS
What inspired you to specialize in sports and spine medicine?
Prior to medical school I had the privilege of serving on the Seattle Mariners sports medicine and performance staff, working with the team physicians (including Dr. Herring). Working in this collaborative environment, I developed an interest in biomechanics and this grew into what has now become a fulfilling career in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Why did you choose to join UW Medicine?
I chose to come back to UW Medicine after my fellowship because of the strength of our division and opportunities for mentorship and growth.
What is your favorite part of working with patients in this field?
I enjoy working with patients and athletes of all ages and abilities to develop a comprehensive plan to help them understand their condition and work toward their goals.
What is one easy tip for spine/joint health you wish everyone would follow?
A little bit can go a long way. Find activities that you enjoy and stay active!
When you are not in the clinic, what do you enjoy doing?
When not in clinic we enjoy exploring the northwest as a family and shuttling around between youth sports events.
