Jessica Lo, MD, a first-year physical medicine and rehabilitation resident, received the 2026 Most Cited Original Research Award from the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The award recognizes a paper Dr. Lo published while working in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. 

Her article, "A Systematic Review of the Incidence, Prevalence, Costs, and Activity and Work Limitations of Amputation, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Back Pain, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, and Traumatic Brain Injury in the United States: A 2019 Update” received the highest number of citations among qualifying articles.

The award considers papers published five years earlier. Dr. Lo’s article was published in a 2021 issue of the Archives.
