Cindy Lin, MD

Cindy Lin, MD, was named to AAPM&R’s list of Innovators & Influencers. Dr. Lin is a clinical associate professor and holds the Endowed Professorship in Sports and Exercise Medicine. She was selected for this honor because of her work as an advocate for Exercise is Medicine, an American College of Sports Medicine initiative to make physical activity assessment and promotion a standard in clinical care. She also leads the ExerciseRx project, which supports patients and providers by incorporating a physical activity vital sign into electronic health records, which can then be used to prescribe step counts and home exercises. Dr. Lin is a committed advocate for patient education and the comprehensive benefits of exercise at the national level.

The Innovators & Influencers program is a new program honoring the impact of early- and mid-career AAMP&R members who have accomplished something innovative or influential within PM&R. In this first year, 21 physiatrists were selected for this honor.
