
Hunter, Sheppard present at Fred Hutch Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness Event
The Fred Hutch Survivorship Program hosted the 18th annual Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness, a free in-person event for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, friends, families and health care professionals on June 1. Two of our faculty members presented at the event:
- Hanna Hunter, MD, Assistant Professor and Medical Director of Cancer Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Medicine, Fred Hutch, spoke on “A Trail Map for Resilience.” This talk explored the concept of resilience as a dynamic process that patients can actively participate in during and after cancer treatment.
- David Sheppard, PhD, Assistant Professor, lead a breakout session on Optimizing Cognitive Functioning in Daily Life. Attendees learned about common cognitive changes following cancer and cancer treatment, as well as common contributors to cognitive lapses in daily life for cancer survivors.
