
Halsne awarded five-year VA Career Development Award

Assistant Professor Beth Halsne, PhD, MSE, L/CPO, who has a joint appointment in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Division and at the VA Puget Sound Health Care, was awarded a five-year VA Career Development (CDA-2) Award. Halsne’s research will focus on “Developing and evaluating a novel tool for facilitating shared decision-making in prosthetic foot prescription to improve satisfaction and mobility outcomes in people with lower limb amputation.”
Halsne will begin work on this project in the fourth quarter of 2026 with support from her mentoring team, including Professor Brian Hafner, PhD; Professor David Morgenroth, MD; Research Associate Professor Dan Norvell, MPT, PhD; and Professor Stefania Fatone, PhD, BPO, Alison Henderson, PhD, from the VA Center for Limb Loss and Mobility, Wayne Biggs, CPO.
