Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor Anita Chopra, MD, received the Outstanding Mentor Award in the new UW School of Medicine Primary Care Practicum award series. Dr. Chopra holds her primary appointment in the Department of Medicine, and she is a clinician in the UW Medicine Long COVID Clinic and a co-investigator on the AHRQ Long COVID Care Network Grant.

Students praised her for exceptional mentorship, noting her commitment to supporting their success through research opportunities, free clinic work, and professional connections.

One student shared:

Dr. Chopra has gone above and beyond in her mentorship and support. It is clear to me that she has taken a personal investment in my success, exemplified by her active efforts to involve me in her ongoing research projects and free clinics. I greatly appreciate how she is constantly on the hunt for new professional opportunities for her mentees, and if she doesn't have the answers or resources to help us, she is always quick to connect us with her colleagues. As an MD-PhD student, I was very grateful when she invited me to continue working with her throughout the PhD phase of my program to maintain my clinical skills...  Overall, I had an incredible experience working with Dr. Chopra.
