
Brown receives $233K from Merck for exercise study

Associate Professor Mary Beth Brown, PT, PhD, of the Division of Physical Therapy, has received a $233,000 grant from Merck for an investigator-initiated study. The project is titled “Remotely Monitored Exercise to Enhance Functional Outcomes in Patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Initiating Sotatercept Therapy.” The study will explore how remote exercise monitoring can improve physical outcomes for patients beginning therapy with Sotatercept, a drug used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart.
