Caitlin Brown, PhD-C, a PhD in Rehabilitation Science student, received the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology 2025 Editor’s Award for articles published in 2024. She received the award for her pre-dissertation article, “Patient characteristics and treatment patterns for speech-language pathology services in skilled nursing facilities.” The award was presented on November 19 at the 2025 ASHA Convention in Washington, DC. 

The journal's editors chose the award to recognize impactful works that meet the highest standards in research design and presentation. The citation for this year goes to Caitlin Brown, PhD-C (lead author), Assistant Professor Rachel Prusynski, DPT, PhD, NCS; Assistant Professor Andrew Humbert, PhD; Professor Carolyn Baylor, PhD, CCC SLP; and Professor Tracy Mroz, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA for the study published in the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology.
