Bringing back REHAB 300-Intro to OT elective course for undergrads

It has been a decade since the Division of Occupational Therapy taught REHAB 300 - Introduction to Occupational Therapy to undergraduate students at UW Seattle. Program Director Tracy Jirikowic thought, "It was just the right time," to bring back an elective course that introduced this phenomenal health care field to undergrads.

The goal now is to reach a wider audience by making the course 100% online to be accessible to UW Tri-Campus students. Nationally, the number of applicants applying to OT academic programs has seen a sharp decline since the COVID-19 pandemic. By teaching an elective course to undergraduate students who are still trying to figure out what career path they want to pursue, the Division hopes to ignite more interest in this field.
