Geoff Balkman, PhD, assistant professor in the UW School of Medicine Master of Prosthetics & Orthotics program since 2022, has accepted a new role as senior clinical development scientist in the ultrasound division at Philips.
An alum of the UW Rehabilitation Science PhD program, Balkman contributed to research and education in prosthetics and orthotics. He worked with Professor Brian Hafner, PhD, at UWCORR to develop the Orthotic and Prosthetic Outcome Measure – Mobility and taught evidence-based practice courses in the MPO program.
He taught his final class this fall and will transition to an affiliate assistant professor role in December to continue supporting research and education.
