Dr. Vicente Martinez is a surgical neurophysiologist and associate professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. His expertise includes multiple neurophysiological techniques used to protect and navigate the nervous system during brain and spinal surgeries. These techniques include cortical mapping, placement and programming of deep brain stimulation (DBS) electrodes, cranial nerve mapping, spinal cord mapping, sensory, motor, and auditory evoked potentials and intrafield stimulation of peripheral nerves during tumor resection. He received his PhD from the University of Michigan and completed his intraoperative neuromonitoring fellowship at the University of Washington.
