Suyoung Kwon, BSN, MPH, PhD

Suyoung Kwon serves as a postdoctoral scholar-fellow at the University of Washington, conducting research on employment issues and workplace accommodations for people with disabilities. As a Health and Aging Policy fellow at the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce, she is working on health and human service policy, particularly related to older adults, the healthcare workforce, disability, and occupational health. She earned her PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Washington, specializing in research on musculoskeletal disorders among workers in both the manufacturing and healthcare industries. With experience as an occupational health nurse and holding certifications in ergonomics and industrial hygiene, she worked at US manufacturing companies in Korea. In this role, she specialized in accommodating workers with injuries or illnesses to facilitate their return to work. Dr. Kwon's primary research interests include employment status, occupational health, working conditions, and health policy, with a focus on considering social determinants of health.
