Patti Noritake Matsuda, PT, PhD, DPT

Patti Noritake Matsuda is a physical therapist and Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physical Therapy. Her clinical and research experience and interest is in the area of falls and fall prevention in various patient populations including older adults and those with neurologic diagnoses, and in neurorehabilitation. She is passionate about service learning and is currently the Director of Service Learning for the Division of Physical Therapy. She works on developing interprofessional opportunities for service learning in the community.

Clinical Interests

Working with people who are recovering from stroke, or who are living with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease. Also working with people who have problems with balance and falls.               

Teaching Interests

Dr. Matsuda teaches in the Neurologic and Lifespan tracks in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She is also the didactic program lead in the UW-Evergreen Health Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency.        

Research Interests

  • Falls and Fall Prevention in Older Adults and people with neurologic diagnoses (MS, Stroke, etc.)
