Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center

The Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) works to translate new research findings into improvements in treatment, patient care, health services delivery, and health care policy and programs.

The Center combines the resources of our NIDRR funded Model Systems of Care, which are specialized programs of care in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and burn injury. The Center "translates" medical research into a more user-friendly form by:

  • Identifying health information needs and summarizing research findings in simplified terms.
  • Ensuring that the latest and best research findings are being used in health care decision making.
  • Developing systems for sharing research information in a way that is efficient and user-friendly.
