Study finds therapies can help fatigue in multiple sclerosis

Professors Dawn Ehde, PhD, and Kevin Alschuler, PhD, were co-authors on a new study that shows that treatment with the medication modafinil or telephone-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), alone or in combination, can significantly reduce fatigue due to multiple sclerosis (MS). The study, available The Lancet Neurology, was led by researchers at Ann Arbor. Around half of the study participants were patients at the UW Multiple Sclerosis Center. The UW Medicine Newsroom has more on this publication
