Rehab 554 Expo showcases breadth of rehabilitation professions

The Perspectives in Interprofessional Education (REHAB 554) course recently held its annual IPExpo, showcasing the collaborative efforts of students from Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, and Speech-Language Pathology. The event was held May 16 and May 23 on the 8th and 9th floor of BB Tower in the Health Sciences Building. This yearly event is designed to introduce students from various graduate programs to the roles and activities of respective professions and to improve interprofessional practice, quality of work, and patient outcomes.

During the expo, students formed same-discipline teams to create interactive displays that highlighted various aspects of their professions. This format allowed participants to both present their expertise and learn from their peers. Faculty members were also in attendance to support and engage with the students’ work.

Both days provided valuable opportunities for students to gain experience in teaching and interdisciplinary learning, reinforcing the importance of interprofessional collaboration in healthcare.
