NWRSCIS SCI Forum: A Prescription for Magic Mushrooms? The Renewed Interest in Psilocybin Research

The Northwest Regional Spinal Cord Injury System is hosting the next SCI Forum on Wednesday, February 28 from 7-8:30 pm:

A Prescription for Magic Mushrooms? The Renewed Interest in Psilocybin Research

Although psychedelics have often been associated with religious and recreational use, there has been a recent renewed focus on psychedelics, particularly psilocybin, for the treatment of various medical conditions. Please take a trip with Dan Mobley, PharmD, Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner at VA Puget Sound Health Care System, in this presentation as we explore psilocybin’s history, pharmacology, and recently published trials. We will also review the current legal classification of psilocybin, future trials, and how the use of psychedelics may, or may not, fit in to your SCI rehabilitation. Please join us! Credits will be available for PT/OT: 1.5 contact hours.

Register in advance for this meeting here.

A recording of this event will be available at a later date.
