Dr. Murray Maitland is an Associate Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy. He is also on the editorial boards of two peer-reviewed journals and reviews grant applications for several agencies, including the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. He is the Chief Delegate for APTA Washington.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Maitland teaches orthopaedics, imaging, practice issues, and differential diagnosis for physical therapists. He is on the Journal of Physical Therapy Education Editorial Board and has authored several papers on educational concepts in physical therapy. He is a member of the Academy of Physical Therapy Education and the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy. 

Research Interests

Dr. Maitland studies prosthetics for people with amputations using finite element simulation, motion analysis, and clinical studies. His understanding of anatomical biomechanics has led to publications in physical examination, movement, and prosthetic design.
