Michael Dolezal, PhD, is a psychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Dolezal takes a values-based and highly collaborative approach to support individuals in their adaptation and recovery processes that are associated with trauma, injury, and conditions that cause disability.

Dr. Dolezal's research interests also focus on improving our understanding of adaptation and recovery processes, as well as how we can more effectively support adaptation and recovery processes. He is especially interested in how nonlinear dynamics-based approaches can improve our understanding of these processes, as well as can improve our ability to provide precise, individualized, and timely interventions following injury or trauma. His interests also include increasing access to effective trauma-focused interventions for communities who have limited access to mental health support.
