Jeffrey Sherman, PhD, is director of the Rehabilitation Psychology Consultation Service at Harborview and a UW professor of Rehabilitation Medicine and Psychology. He is also director of the Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship. Dr. Sherman specializes in treating people with brain injury, spinal cord injury and other traumas. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. Dr. Sherman earned his PhD at the University of Kentucky. His clinical interests include helping patients learn to live as fully and functionally as possible with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, other physical traumas, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder and pain. His research interests include studying disparities in the delivery of mental health care in the rehabilitation setting, biobehavioral mechanisms of acute and chronic pain and the relationship between pain and posttraumatic stress disorder.
