David Sheppard is a clinical neuropsychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is interested in the effects of neurocognitive changes on daily functioning among individuals with a history of brain tumor or following treatment for cancers outside the central nervous system. He earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston (Neuropsychology Major Area of Study), and he completed both his clinical internship and a research postdoctoral fellowship (Northwest Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center) at the VA Puget Sound, Seattle Division.

Teaching Interests
Dr. Sheppard has interests in teaching and education in the area of psychological assessment and evidence-based practice of psychology. His teaching incorporates a developmental model of assessing trainee needs to address growth edges while building upon strengths, and emphasizes experiential practice to build knowledge.
Research Interests
His research focuses on identifying novel ways to measure neurocognition and everyday functioning, as well as characterizing the long-term effects of cancer and cancer treatment on neurocognitive aging, everyday functioning, and quality of life.
