Inpatient Information

UWMC Inpatient Rehabilitation Sculpture

As a result of illness or injury, patients may be referred to an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit to receive intensive treatment and therapy. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals will work with the patient on a plan specifically designed to focus on his or her rehabilitation needs. As a resource for patients, we have developed a manual, Rehab and Beyond, which describes the entire inpatient experience.

The University of Washington's reputation as one of the top three rehabilitation programs in the nation is a result of the safe, high-quality medical care we provide to our patients and their families. Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Units are staffed with expert caregivers, who work in partnership with their patients to maximize independence and realize potential.
