UW MOT student part of collaborative scholarship on AOTA poster

The project was led by Sarah Tuberty, an OT practitioner and doctoral candidate at Texas Woman's University. Last year, she approached Natalie Grazian, MOT student at the University of Washington, and Madelyn Hubbs, MOT student at Maryville University of St. Louis, to help research and write a proposal about the current state of equity in OT education for students with disabilities. It's a topic that the three were passionate about due to their lived experience with the subject matter. The proposal was accepted, and together they created a poster presentation for the 2024 American Occupational Therapy Association Inspire Conference and Expo.

Natalie stated, "One of the contributions that I'm proud of is an audio description of the poster's text and images linked via the QR code on the poster, which makes it more accessible to conference-goers with visual impairments. While I did not go to the conference in Orlando this year, Sarah and Madelyn took the conference by storm and gave a very successful presentation."
