Jed N. McGiffin, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and acting assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is clinically specialized in rehabilitation psychology, working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. McGiffin’s research involves the application of statistical modeling procedures, including network psychometrics and trajectory modeling, to improve our scientific understanding of rehabilitation issues. Specifically, his research focuses on understanding the psychological process of adapting to a new disability, with an emphasis on determinates of resilience and positive adjustment outcomes. He obtained his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Columbia University. He completed a rehabilitation psychology residency and research fellowship at Rusk Rehabilitation, NYU Langone Health.
