Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center (DBTAC)

The Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center (DBTAC) Northwest at the University of Washington was established to serve business, state and local government and people with disabilities as they work together to meet the challenges of disability and its impact on society.

The Center provides free consultation to questions regarding compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and how to effectively respond to the formula driven process of accommodating the human condition in employment, accessibility, transportation, and access in the information age.

Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation (CCER) at UW

The Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation (CCER) is dedicated to increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities by providing specialized rehabilitation training and technical assistance in the Pacific North West and beyond.

CCER is part of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at University of Washington, and works with state and community-based rehabilitation professionals, organizations and businesses, educators, and schools, as well as people with disabilities and their families.

The Center recently recieved a $3.6 million grant from the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) of the U.S. Department of Education to develop and provide an integrated program of technical assistance, organizational development, and educational activities to vocational rehabilitation agencies and their partners in the North West.

Dr. Mark Guthrie, Associate Professor and Division Head for Physical Therapy (PT), has been a member of the University of Washington faculty since 1983.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Washington State University, and both his Master of Physical Therapy and his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Washington. Read more...
