    PM&R interns, class of 2020

  • Jacob Kneeman, MD
  • Hometown: Tucson, AZ
    Medical School: Boston University
PM&R Interests: Pain, Sports and Spine
Personal Interests: futbol, hip hop dancing.
Why UW? UW is a terrific fit for me because I wanted a strong, well-rounded training with like-minded people. Despite having specific interests in comprehensive pain and sports and spine, I thought that I should expose myself to many different fields of rehab in order to prepare for most rehab-related diseases. On my interview day, the residents seemed to get along and genuinely enjoy spending time with one another outside of work. I also wanted a change of scenery. The luscious greenery and lakes relax me. I wanted to live in a more relaxed environment yet still be inspired by fantastic mentors at work. Lastly, Seattle provided a balance between big city life and easily accessible outdoor venues. I also have family in Seattle and Tacoma.
    Jacob Kneeman

    Medical School: University of Washington
PM&R Interests: I've loved all my rehab rotations so far, but I'm particularly excited to focus on neurorehab, and rehab for patients with multiple sclerosis in particular.
Personal Interests: I love the outdoors and try to be outside as much as possible, whether that's playing soccer, getting up to the mountains, or hanging in my backyard with friends and family! But my favorite activity these days is hanging out with my two-year-old daughter and showing her all the fun things about Seattle, including the zoo, Seattle Center, and all the great parks.
Why UW? I love the Seattle area- the mountains and the water are so beautiful. But even more importantly, the people at UW Rehab are what made me choose UW. The amazing faculty and research on multiple sclerosis make it a top academic institution, and the kind, down-to-earth faculty, staff, and residents are what convinced me that this is the place I want to be for the next four years!
