Advanced Training on Outcomes in Rehabilitation Research (UW-ATORR) Post-Doctoral Fellowship:
Faculty Members

The following faculty members have agreed to serve as mentors for ATTOR post-doctoral trainees. Additional faculty members can be approached depending on the interests of the trainee.

Fellowship Director:

Dr. Dagmar Amtmann is the principal investigator of this training program. Her research is focused on outcomes measurement in rehabilitation. Trainees working with Dr. Amtmann will gain experiences in all aspects of outcomes measurement including conducting focus groups and cognitive interviews and analyzing related qualitative data; developing and evaluating instruments (e.g., item banks, short forms, surveys, interview protocols, performance-based tests, momentary assessment / diary protocols); selecting appropriate time frames for instruments and using best modes of administration. In addition, trainees will gain experience with applications of IRT, such as computerized adaptive testing, differential item function and linking (also referred to as equating or cross-walking).

Dr. Amtmann has an extensive library of datasets from longitudinal and cross-sectional studies with both adults and children who were measured on a number of symptoms and quality of life indicators. These datasets were collected for studies with psychometric aims and lend themselves to addressing psychometric research questions. Trainees could use these data as preliminary studies or collect their own data to use for research studies, grant applications and manuscripts.
